PRIDE CLUB BAKE-SALE SUPPORTING THE LimBbo FOUNDATION
Thursday 7th April
Pride Club bake-sale supporting the LimBbo Foundation
The Pride Club have been busy working on organising and creating a bake-sale for all students at Horizon. Over 40 student volunteers have worked to arrange this event over the last 8 weeks. Students have worked on making badges, embroidering bags and baking over a 150 buns and cakes.
A total of £257 has been raised and all the proceeds have been donated to the Limbo foundation our school sponsored charity. A huge thank you to everyone who has donated and supported the club and our local charity, and to those who given up their time to support the club.
Dr Owens has been an invaluable member of the science extracurricular team, enabling students to catch up on lost practical learning. Her after school sessions have drawn unprecedented numbers who have attended and shown a genuine joy in practical work. Practical sessions have included dissection of heart and lungs, making a rainbow using acids, alkalis and indicator, extracting DNA from peas, testing food for key nutrient groups and making/firing water rockets.
